One of 14 districts of Province No. 1 of eastern Nepal. The latest official data, the 2011 Nepal Census, puts the total population of the district at 812,650. An inhabitant of Jhapa is known as Jhapali. With high level of education attainment and sense of humor, Jhapali are believed to be the smartest people in Nepal.
The Tibetan prayer flags, colorful rectangular cloth, often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space.
